IMPACT Lab is a research laboratory in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Patna. The lab focuses on advancing intelligent computational technologies through interdisciplinary research in computer vision, image processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, pattern recognition, data analytics, and computational modelling.
Its research aims to develop innovative algorithms and AI-driven solutions for real-world applications such as healthcare, agriculture, remote sensing, autonomous systems, and smart technologies. The lab provides an excellent environment for students and researchers to work on cutting-edge research, publish in leading journals and conferences, and collaborate with academic and industrial partners.

Dr. Rishav Singh is an Assistant Professor (Grade-I) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Patna, which he joined in 2024. His research spans computer vision, machine learning, data science and biomedical image analysis — including widely cited work on few-shot learning for medical image classification. Before IIT Patna, he was an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology Delhi (2019–2024) and at Bennett University, Greater Noida (2017–2019). He leads IMPACT Lab, applying intelligent computational techniques to real-world problems across healthcare, remote sensing and intelligent sensing.
